More about this course

Our Biology of Infectious Disease (including foundation year) BSc (Hons) degree begins with a foundation year, during which you’ll examine core principles of biology, biochemistry, biology and chemistry.

You'll share you foundation year with others studying science-related degrees with a foundation year. The shared curriculum will develop your technical skills and competencies in a range of specialist areas, helping you to become a confident and well-rounded scientist capable of understanding your work in a variety of scientific contexts.

Throughout your degree you’ll work on projects in our state-of-the-art Science Centre, which houses one of the largest laboratories in Europe. In addition to material resources, you’ll also receive support from our academic and pastoral staff, who will help you reach your academic potential and ensure you settle well into the University.

After your foundation year you'll study the same course content and modules as those who study our Biology of Infectious Diseases BSc (Hons) degree.
