The BA (Hons) Business and Management, is designed to meet the needs of individuals looking for a vocationally-orientated degree programme which focuses on developing the Business and Management skills needed to fulfil a range of management roles within Business. The course develops an in depth and integrated understanding of the main business functions within a contemporary international context. Whether you wish to build a career with a multinational, a small local company or start your own business, you can gain the skills and insight to enable you to achieve your ambitions.
The degree is structure into two semesters each academic year and in each semester three modules will be studied.
In year 1, you will gain a working understanding the business environment, business finance and accounting, marketing and people management. . Modules will introduce both the fundamentals of management studies and the basic concepts and skills necessary for a broad understanding of the complex environment within which businesses operate. The combination of modules will give you a solid basis from which to build your understanding of the fundamental principles of business practice.
In year 2, you will study Management and Financial Accounting, Marketing and Brand Management and Managing Process and Operations and develop an in-depth understanding of these aspects of business activity. You will also have the opportunity to study key business theories and practice in an organisational context to enhance your entrepreneurial skills. Furthermore, you will be able to develop your knowledge of international business, primarily through modules in International Business and Globalisation and Entrepreneurship.
In year 3 you will conclude your studies with the International Marketing Strategy ensuring that you are able to correctly identify the strategic options and practical approaches when looking to market product and services on a global basis; and Contemporary issues in Management which will provide with comprehensive insight into the current challenges facing managers. You will then complete a final project investigating an authentic business issue. The aim of the final year is consolidate knowledge and understanding through an opportunity to undertake independent research into an area of business related interest..
We use a variety assessment approaches including course work (reports, case studies and reflections) as well presentations and examinations.
Whether you are delivering a presentation or pitching your business idea; your creativity, business acumen and knowledge and skills will be developed as well as being assessed.

A minimum of 80 UCAS points from AS/A2 level (must include at least one A2) or other equivalent advanced level course; or BTEC National Award /Certificate/ Diploma in a related subject; or a pass in a relevant Access to HE qualification; or other UK/overseas Level 3 qualifications.
In addition we require a pass in English Language at GCSE at grade C or above, or an equivalent.
International students would need to have an IELTS test at band 6.0 or above.
Mature applicants may be considered on relevant experience without having the required tariff points.

Basic and Key Skill Builder Assessment (BKSB)
A BKSB assessment will be required for applicants who don't meet the English or maths entry requirement.
An Interview may be required if you don't meet the course entry requirements.
