You will study under the guidance of experienced lecturers who provide technical tuition alongside vital industry context.
The course is taught with a small group size to maximise individual tuition. There will be a combination of lectures, seminars and practical workshops, with the added expectation of self-directed study. Students will be expected to work as part of a team and autonomously in order to complete scheduled work.
This course provides the advanced skills and technical knowledge that could allow for career progression into roles such as business analyst, database manager, software developer, web developer and network management/technical support.

Modules

You will be expected to study and complete 5 modules; 3 in semester one and 2 in semester 2. These comprise: Network Management, Engineering Mobile Applications, Data Science, Human Computer Interaction and a final Project. This project is a core unit offered in the second semester and is a double unit worth 40 CATS. This unit is designed to provide the student with the opportunity to conduct a self-managed project of significant scale and complexity. The project should reflect theory and practice drawn from the named award being undertaken by the student and be related to real world applications.

Assessment method

Assessments will be scheduled and published at the beginning of each unit and will comprise a mixture of presentations, group work, work-based learning, practical assessment and written assignments in the form of reports. There may be other forms of assessment as well. The reports will have specific word counts and will have different grade weightings depending on the module and number of assessments.
