Research projects are offered in following areas: Molecular biology and genetics of plant development; photomorphogenesis, pollen development; control of plant protein synthesis; molecular cytogenetics and genome evolution; repetitive DNA sequences; plant systematics and evolution; molecular biology and genetics of circadian rhythms in Drosophila; insect population dynamics; control of transposable element activity (chloroplast biogenesis and protein targeting); ageing in insects; ecology, physiology and behavioural genetics of aquatic invertebrates; behavioural ecology of food gathering in vertebrates and insects; marine and fisheries ecology, evolution of trophic diversity in fish, population dynamics, management of inshore fisheries; ecology and management of water treatment processes, river systems and lakes; vertebrate predators and pesticides; functioning of compound eyes in arthropods; molecular ecology and phylogeography; population genetics of invasive plant species.
A 2.1 Honours degree in relevant subject; exceptionally, other appropriate qualifications and or significant relevant experience considered.
