What will I study?

Games Design

During this course, you will discover the core principles of games design, looking at the process of taking an idea from conception to completion. Games design explores a wide understanding of design principles, player psychology, history, geography, culture, architecture and storytelling, to create a concise and meaningful journey for the player.

You will gain experience creating game concepts inside engines such as the Unreal Engine and Unity, and explore the principles of 3D modelling and animation. You will discover what it means to work as part of a development team, and receive support from industry experts who network with the college. Potential future pathways involve games designer, animator and technical artist.

Games Development

You will be equipped with the necessary practical and technical skills needed to develop games both independently and within a multi-disciplinary environment, backed by industry-standard practices.

This course will introduce you to the processes involved in creating video games, which are produced through high-quality software coding. You will use industry-relevant programming languages, such as C# and C++ through popular game engines such as Unity and the Unreal Engine. You will learn how to perform code reviews, quality testing and the need to work closely with developers, designers and artists to create a quality product to schedule.
