University of Birmingham has opted into the TEF and received a Gold award.
Students admitted to this programme may progress to any undergraduate degree programme in the School of Engineering (Departments of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronic and Electrical Engineering) at the end of Year 1.

A level Mathematics required. You must also pass the practical element of any reformed science A levels which include Biology, Chemistry and Physics taught from 2015.
General Studies or Critical Thinking not accepted. However, a good performance in one of these may be taken into account if you fail to meet the conditions of the offer.
|Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)||D*D*D*||D*D*D* plus Distinction in all units required. BTEC Extended Diploma will be considered providing there is sufficient Mathematics content and applicant satisfactorily completes our Mathematics aptitude test.|
|Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal||Accepted in place of A levels with the following grade equivalencies: D2 = A*; D3 = A; M2 = B. Combinations of A levels and Principle subjects are accepted. NB required subjects must be offered (see A level Section)|
|International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme||32 points||6,6,5 at Higher Level to include Mathematics with a minimum of 32 points overall.|
