This BSc degree is for people who want to research, test, analyse and apply the latest film technology.

This unique course will provide you with the opportunity to become a filmmaker with production, business and technical skills. The course is designed and delivered by current industry practitioners working in film and TV, along with experienced academics. The structure of this course provides the opportunity for you to take a year away from your studies in a relevant industrial/professional placement. The school has a dedicated Academic Practice Learning Manager who will be able to guide, advise and support you with regards to placement opportunities. Placement years provide context for students’ academic studies and can often lead to graduate employment opportunities.

As a student on this course, you will focus on real-world production, along with an emphasis on employability and entrepreneurship. You’ll gain industry recognised skills, taught by professionals with ongoing film and broadcast projects. Our cutting-edge equipment and facilities include a large purpose-built multi camera HD studio and green screen studio, post production suites, state-of-the-art digital cinema HD and 4K cameras.

The course has strong industry links which will help you to find work experience. These opportunities and the skills acquired on the course will be critical to your early success as a filmmaker.
