This is for you if you want to explore the ancient world in depth, immersing yourself in the social and cultural worlds of antiquity.

Course details

Modules

You will be introduced to Greek and Roman history, as well as key types of source material available for studying the classical world including literature and art, inscriptions, coins, and material culture. In your second year you will develop your skills and knowledge further. Your final year is an opportunity to delve into areas of greatest interest to you.

Assessment is through exams and essays, source analyses, group projects and presentations.

Additional fee information

The tuition fee for home and EU students is reviewed annually and for the academic year 2019/20 it is £9,250. The fees for following years have not yet been decided but are likely to increase each year in line with inflation, subject to government regulations. The inflation rate used will be RPIX, which includes all the items in the Retail Price Index, excluding mortgage payments. For your information, the inflation rate used by the Government when increasing the tuition fee from £9,000 to £9,250 was 2.8%.
