Course summary
Archaeology is the study of how people in the past interacted with their world, through a detailed study of their objects, sites, monuments and landscapes. You will have the opportunity to gain practical fieldwork skills in the UK and also abroad. Recent students have worked in the Baltic states, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy and Portugal.
Politics is the study of the way power and influence are distributed within society and how this affects decision making within and among countries and states. You will study a wide variety of topics within the discipline of politics including courses in international relations, political theory and British politics taught by leading researchers in the field.

Qualification requirements
SQA applicants entering from S5 are required to achieve AAAA/AAABB by the end of S5. Applicants who achieve less than AAAA/AAABB by the end of S5 but achieved at least ABBB MAY receive a conditional offer, but a decision will not be made on these applications until March once all applications have been reviewed. Conditional offers to these applicants will require them to achieve AAAAAB cumulatively by the end of S6.
