Biomedical science focuses on how cells, organs and metabolic systems function in the human body. Through this understanding of health and disease processes, new treatments and therapies can be created or developed, which makes it a very dynamic and exciting field of study.

The BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences is a unique 2 year programme taught on the Crewe campus (subject to contract) awarding graduates of this course a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences degree.

This course is part of the Medipathways® suite of courses, specifically designed for students interested in progressing on to medical or dental school as well as other healthcare sciences and professions.

Assessment method

The programme is taught using a range of teaching methodologies such as lectures, small group tutorial sessions, problem-based learning, one-to-one personal tutoring, seminars, practicals and personal assessments.

A level BBB •A-Level grades of BBB, which include Biology & Chemistry are usually our standard requirement for entry onto our 2-year BSc programme.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme 32 points

Equivalent qualifications, such as the Irish Leaving Certificate, the I.B. Diploma and the Scottish Advanced Highers are also accepted. Prospective international applicants with other qualifications should contact us for an individual assessment. We welcome applications from students who have successfully completed a BTEC programme of study, however students who have a BTEC as their highest attained qualification will normally be offered the Foundation programme.
