Keele University has opted into the TEF and received a Gold award.
At Keele University, we’re different. Nestled in 600 acres of countryside in the heart of the UK, we have a big campus but a small and cosmopolitan community. We’re proud to be ‘University of the Year for Student Experience’ in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017, in addition to having been ranked No.1 in the National Student Survey 2014-2016. This is because it’s more than green and lovely, it’s a place of research and academic excellence too.
This course provides excellent preparation for a wide range of subjects relating to business, management, accounting, finance and economics. The Business Foundation Year has been developed in consultation with Keele Management School which has a long established and growing international reputation. Study of the theory of business and management goes hand in hand with investigation into up-to-date case studies and training in academic literacy, numerical and computational skills.
After you have completed your Business Foundation Year, you could progress on to the Accounting and Business Management Degree. The course will enhance your career prospects in a range of business contexts. It is also recognised by global professional accountancy bodies offering a number of important exemptions from their professional exams. You will build your understanding of business strategy, behaviour and performance in the global context. Our computer laboratories, equipped with Bloomberg terminals and Sage accounting software will allow you to prepare, analyse and interpret accounting data using real world examples. You can complement this practical experience by opting for a placement year between your second and third year of study. This will provide an excellent starting point for your career after Keele.
