Start your journey to a highly rewarding profession as a sonographer with our BSc (Hons) Medical Ultrasound course.

Through a combination of classroom teaching, online learning, ultrasound simulation and scanning real patients makes this course your perfect route into the profession of sonography.

The course is taught at our state-of-the-art £71 million City South Campus - featuring one of the region’s largest centres for radiography and ultrasound education, with a well-established history of teaching medical imaging. We have strong and effective links with hospital and private sector ultrasound departments, which ensure that you will have every opportunity to develop your practical and clinical skills.

As the first university in the UK to offer an undergraduate course of it's kind, you'll learn from experts in ultrasound, medical imaging and healthcare, and will study a range of subjects, including anatomy and physiology, pathology, patient care, obstetric care, imaging methods and professional studies as well as obstetric, gynaecological and abdominal ultrasound scanning techniques.
