To apply for this course you will be taken to the provider's website, where you can find out more information and make an application.
The following entry points are available for this course:
Candidates should normally have the minimum general requirements for the higher level study of 48 UCAS tariff points. However, all potential learners must be able to display strong motivation to join the course including a commitment to Deaf issues and evidence of Deaf awareness. This will be assessed by means of attendance and commitment demonstrated on previous courses and evidence of involvement with Deaf people/communities; this could include participation in social activities such as Deaf club, Sign club and paid or voluntary work with Deaf people.
Candidates should be able to display a realistic understanding of the future demands involved, not just in terms of higher levels of BSL, but also the additional academic requirements for study at foundation degree level.
The College welcomes applications from mature, local applicants and from people already working within the Deaf community. Potential mature students, without the normal entry qualifications, will be considered on an individual basis.
These learners will be set a piece of work at interview to demonstrate their rationale and aspirations for undertaking the programme. This would be used to identify the level of their communication skills, their previous experience, their commitment and reason for undertaking this course.
All places are subject to satisfactory interview.
