This course, focusing on contemporary issues such as learners and learning and managing educational change, is for teachers employed in primary, secondary and further education as well as DMU graduates interested in teaching, or related careers.
Modules include: Researching education (compulsory); major project/dissertation (compulsory). Optional modules: assessment and the curriculum; current and emergent issues; technology enhanced learning; inclusion in practice; learners and learning; managing educational.
Assessment may include a continuing professional development event with your employer.
A 2.1 Honours degree in any discipline; for applicants with appropriate existing qualifications (for e.g. PGCE), the course offers accredited prior learning facilities of up to 60 credits; this should be discussed with the course leader at application stage; non-standard applications are considered according to their individual merits. If English is not your first language an IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent when you start the course is essential.
