The Business Studies BA (Hons) degree will fine-tune your approach to business, helping you prepare for your professional career. The broad areas this degree covers includes finance, accounting, management, marketing, human resources and entrepreneurship, and will provide you with a good understanding of how a business is run, from operations to people management.

Studying this degree gives you access to the University’s Bloomberg terminals where you’ll use real-time data to analyse, model and inform your decision making, preparing you for the challenges of the real world. You’ll also use Synergy technology and a "flipped learning" approach to enable collaboration and group work, building interpersonal skills and encouraging communication.

Our teaching staff includes award-winning, research-active and practising professionals, all ready to guide you with their experience and knowledge of the industry. We also invite visiting professors from the industry to further enhance your lectures and seminars.

The course places a strong emphasis on employability and you'll develop a wide range of skills to take with you into your business career. The knowledge you acquire will constantly be linked to real world business situations, giving you extensive experience of the industry. This is built through practical projects and our work-related learning module where you'll experience all aspects of working life in a business environment. You'll also benefit from The Accelerator, our business incubator in Shoreditch which provides you with support, guidance and valuable networks to help you turn your business ideas into reality.

Assessment method

You’ll be assessed through coursework, presentations, practical projects and seen time-constrained assignments.

Access to HE Diploma M: 30 credits
P: 15 credits
You should have 60 credits overall in a business-related subject with 45 credits at Level 3 (with a minimum of 30 credits at Merit) and Communications and Maths units passed at Level 2. QAA accredited course required.
Scottish Higher C C C C D A minimum of 99 UCAS points with at least 78 points at higher level in business-related subjects, plus English and Maths standard level at grade C.
