Whether you're looking to start up your own business, or forge your way as a leader in a small or large organisation in the creative industries, our BA/BSc (Hons) Business Management course will equip you with the practical skills, entrepreneurial attributes and creativity required to make an immediate impact on global business organisations.

Based on techniques that have produced world-leading creative professionals in a sector that is undergoing substantial growth, each unit of the course will prepare you for a range of career opportunities in the creative business sector.

This practice-based course is taught at UCA’s unique and dynamic Business School for the Creative Industries, at our Epsom campus, alongside a wealth of other creative and business focused students. Based on techniques which have produced world-leading creative professionals in a sector undergoing substantial growth, our Business Management course will prepare you for a range of career opportunities in the creative sector.

Modules

In Year 1, you'll be introduced to the University and the workshops and facilities available to you. On the course you’ll learn skills that will give you a solid foundation from which to explore your areas of specialist activity, including marketing fundamentals, an introduction to finance and accounting, and project and operations management. In Year 2, the focus is on finding your own specialist way of working and you’ll be encouraged and supported to start working more independently. You’ll cover areas such as E-business and E-marketing, Law for the creative industries, professional practice and business placement. During this year you may also have the opportunity to complete a professional work placement. Year 3 will see you achieve a greater level of independence with self-managed research, study and practice, resulting in a final business project. You’ll cover areas such as business strategy, business research, Enterprise sustainability and business ethics.

We require evidence of your English language ability to meet the requirements for your course. If you're a Home student and studied in the UK, we require GCSE English at a minimum grade C/4 (or Functional Skills English/Key Skills Communication Level 2). If you’re an EU student and studied a European qualification, we may accept the English Language score from your main qualification - please review your country from the list on our website to see whether we will accept it: https://www.uca.ac.uk/international-study/equivalent-qualifications/ If your qualification is not on this list, we accept the following English language qualifications: IELTS (overall score 6.0), TOEFL ibt (overall score 88), PEARSON PTE Academic (overall 55), Cambridge Proficiency Exam (overall score 169), Cambridge Advanced Exam (overall score 169). If you need a Tier 4 student visa to study in the UK, you will need to take an IELTS test, and achieve an overall score of 6.0 and a minimum score of 5.5 for each element (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing).
