Course summary

Explore philosophical questions with your own independent research project, while developing your knowledge and skills through our wide range of taught modules. You can complete your research project on any philosophical subject, as agreed with the supervisor, and there is a wide range of choice for the taught component, enabling you to build your own unique programme of study.

Modules

You take a philosophical research module and then choose two modules from a range including: philosophy of language; philosophy of cognitive science; philosophy of mind; metaphysics; epistemology; God, freedom, and the meaning of life; philosophy of health and happiness before completing a 20,000 thesis.

Thesis.


Entry requirements

For MRes and MA by research programmes, entry to our programmes usually requires a good (normally a 2.1 or above) Honours degree, or an equivalent qualification if you were educated outside the UK.
