Course summary

This dual honours degree explores the relationship between economic and political aspects of the modern world. The course analyses political ideas, institutions and practices and you'll develop the quantitative and analytical skills essential for economists to make informed judgements. Over the duration of the course you'll take core and optional modules in both economics and politics. This will allow you to develop a balanced knowledge in both disciplines, as well as key research and analytical skills. Your final year includes a project or dissertation in politics, and you can apply your economic skills to a number of short projects in the Economics in Action module. We offer you the chance to do a year-long work placement, starting after your second year. This is a great opportunity to get paid work experience with some of the UK's top employers who want to recruit the best students from Sheffield.
