This new qualification is designed to provide students with the opportunity to acquire a clear line of sight to employment in the tourism industry. Students will graduate with sound knowledge of international travel and understanding of the workings of the global travel, the tourism industry and event management.
On completing their studies, students will be equipped with commercial acumen along with the many transferable skills required for both professional and personal success in a diverse range of industry roles.
At the end of the course students have the opportunity to celebrate their achievement with a full graduation ceremony at Chichester Cathedral.

Course details

Modules

The course comprises eight core and eight optional units. Students may be able to select their optional units and so design a study pathway towards their particular career interests. This course provides students with the skills and expertise sought after by industry.
Units will include: The Travel and Tourism Sector, Marketing in Travel and Tourism, Contemporary Issues in Travel and Tourism, Hospitality Provision in Travel and Tourism, Finance and Funding in the Travel and Tourism Sector, Resort Management, The Developing Manager, Human Resource Management for Service Industries.

Assessment method

Assessment methods include range of coursework assessments such as essays, reports, portfolios, performance, presentations, as well as written examinations and a final year major project. The grades from formal assessments count towards your unit mark.
The balance of assessment by examination and assessment by coursework depends on your course choices.

All students complete an Audition/Interview and may be asked to present a portfolio of work as part of their application. A typical offer of either a combination of GCE A levels/Level 3 Diploma or an Extended Diploma at overall Merit. GCSE Mathematics and English Language are preferred at grade C or above, English as a second language at IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. Mature students with suitable experience and/or portfolio of work are welcome to make an application and attend an interview and/or audition.
