Students should be able to demonstrate a strong interest in their chosen option, i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or General Engineering and have employment in an appropriate engineering industry.
Normally, applicants will be expected to have the equivalent of:
BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering or
- Foundation Degree in Engineering
(Higher Nationals should include a module of Science and Mathematics at level 4 and at least two units achieved with merit grade. Foundation Degrees must include modules in Mathematics at level 4.)
Entry to the course requires successful interview and familiarisation exercises, including Mathematics review.

The modules are part of an integrated suite that have both formative and summative assessments built into them. These methods include all of the following: problem based assignments, work-based projects; oral and written reports, individual and team-based exercises, experimental work, and phase tests.
