This course takes a interdisciplinary approach to the animated form in traditional 2D and 3D stop motion. Students progress with independent learning, thinking and development of personal enquiry through an open, supportive and professional environment. On this course students engage with practices of reading and writing about the subject as well as the craft of making.
Modules include: critical contexts; skills and development (animation practice); production, project delivery and professional animation.
A range of assessment methods are used, including reviews of coursework, presentations and written submissions. Peer and self-assessment are also used at appropriate points to enable more self-critical perspectives in thinking about work and practice.
A good Honours degree (normally 2.1 or above) or equivalent qualification in a chosen subject or a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience, demonstrating the ability to study at postgraduate level. Attendance at an Applicant Day with portfolio for assessment will be required.
