This course is designed for holders of a HND in Business (Accounting and Finance) or equivalent qualification. Students can obtain a full honours degree in one year.
The course equips graduates with the crucial skills required for an entry-level position in financial accounting, management accounting, finance, auditing and taxation.
This degree is the first step on the ladder to becoming an accountant. To progress, a professional qualification is also essential. Most students will go on to take a professional accounting qualification with one of the major international accounting bodies, such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
This course is accredited by CIMA and ACCA. Our students also benefit from free student membership to both ACCA and CIMA throughout the duration of their studies. This means that our students can take advantage of both ACCA and CIMA online communities and free resources and career support services relevant to their studies such as: interview tips, CV support, discussion forums, graduate vacancies, information about networking events, and career skills classes run by employers.

On this course you will undertake a rigorous and coherent study of the theory and practice of accounting and financial management and develop an understanding of how accounting and financial management is shaped by and impacts on legal, ethical, social, political, environmental and economic norms.

Applicants normally require a Pearson or SQA HND in Accounting. An equivalent Level 5 qualification awarded by bodies such as ABE, CIM, NCC, ATHE may also be accepted.
Comparable overseas qualifications, such as the Chinese Dazhuan Diploma, are also accepted for admission onto the course.
