The undergraduate BA (Hons) Education degree at Birmingham is one of the most prestigious education degrees in the UK.

Students learn about education as a human, cultural, economic, and social development that is fundamental to a changing, globalised world. The BA Education degree combines ideas and research from education, psychology, sociology, philosophy and history.

Each of the three years of study is worth 120 credits. This includes a compulsory two-week vocational placement during the second year and completion of a dissertation.

It is designed for both UK/EU and international students who have academic interests in education or aspirations to work with children and young people in a variety of fields ranging from teaching and social work to policy and psychology.

The BA (Hons) Education degree gives you the option in your second year to study overseas at one of our partner institutions for the first semester.
