This games design and development degree combines all the aspects of theory, practice and technology essential to your career. You'll learn games programming and get the chance to discover the creative aspects of the games industry through practical projects. Graduates have been employed in Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) sectors, as well as in smaller independent studios.
You’ll experience the theory, technology, practice, and application of computing and the development of computer games, and this new understanding will be complimented by skills in digital design and development

You will have the opportunity to specialise in programming or modelling and animation, and build a broad range of skills with a general games design and development degree
Through a series of projects, you will gain theoretical knowledge and will have the opportunity to acquire practical experience
This course is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in computer game development and/or developing gaming content for related applications in serious games or mobile

The following entry points are available for this course:

|UCAS Tariff||112 points||112 UCAS points from Level 3 qualifications. You will also require GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths at grade 4 or above (for pre-2017 GCSEs, grade 4 equates to C grade). We will NOT accept other UK qualifications in place of GCSE English Language or GCSE Maths.|
|Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)||DMM|
|Access to HE Diploma||Applications from students taking Access to Higher Education courses are welcome. As long as it equates to 112 UCAS points.|
Additional entry requirements
Attendance of a talk on the programme, followed by an interview with an academic member of staff. For international students, these can be conducted virtually.
For students who lack the appropriate Maths and English GCSEs or IELTS, an equivalent test maybe requested to be taken at the Maritime campus
