Havering College of Further and Higher Education is an exciting place to study for your vocationally focused Higher Education programme. This course is for those with experience of studying and/or working in the health and social sector. Modules focus on theory, policy and practice. Graduates can enter a wide variety of NHS positions.
Year 1: Health & Wellbeing, Sociology for Health & Social Care, Psychology for Health & Social Care, Working in a Diverse Society, Developing Across the Human Lifespan. Year 2: Care Values in Health & Social Care, Exploring Loss in Health & Social Care, Safeguarding Individuals, Legislation, Policy & Practice, Introduction to Research. Year 3: Public Health: Critical Perspectives, Mental Health: Contemporary Issues, Leadership and Management in Health & Social Care, Dissertation.
You will be assessed through written assignments, reports, practical workplace assessments and case studies.

If you are currently working in the Health and Social Care sector, you will be required to present your DBS check. If you are seek a work placement after joining the programme, you will have the opportunity to apply for DBS clearance through Havering College.
