.This course has been designed for individuals wishing to focus specifically on networking and cyber security. There is a significant demand for people who can design, develop, implement and manage networked environments, develop websites and software applications, design and develop database applications, and create interactive multimedia-based applications. This course has been developed in consultation with key industry contacts throughout the region so you’ll get relevant, career-focused training in a range of computing areas. This is a two-year full-time course, which will prepare you for the challenges and developments in the computing industry. You will be given student membership of the British Computer Society (BCS), allowing you to participate in continuing professional development activities and events. You will also benefit from guest lectures and question and answer sessions with experts from industry. This course will help you develop a variety of computing skills that allow you to pursue a career as a cyber security analyst, IT consultancy, software development, network specialist, IT training or other industry related roles. Upon completion of this course you may wish to progress your studies through a one-year BSc (Hons) Top-Up degree.

Modules

Year One: Academic Study Skills, Fundamentals of Security Programming, Network Design Fundamentals, Open Source Investigation, Personal Development, Routing Protocols and Concepts, Work-Related Learning. Year Two: Advanced Security Programming, LAN Switching and Server Administration, Enterprise Network Design, Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing, Personal Development, Work-Related Learning.

Assessment method

Teaching and learning methods are widely varied including lectures, seminars, demonstrations and self-directed study. Assessment is carried out through written assignments, practical work, case-studies, presentations and projects.
