Course summary

This BA course has been designed to provide students with the skillsets required by employers in the screen industries. Students learn to work collaboratively towards professional standards through the course model that sees lecture, seminar and workshop training followed by the practical application of learning on set. In the final phase of the course students demonstrate the culmination of their learning through major graduation film projects that then receive a screening in Central London.

To complete the programme, students must pass the following modules:
PFR4101 Practical Film Production 1: HD 30 CATS Term 1-2
PFR4102 Screen Studies: Landmarks in Cinema 30 CATS Term 1-2
PFR4103 Visual Storytelling and Screen Grammar 30 CATS Term 1-2
PFR4104 Working with Actors 15 CATS Term 2
SCR4106 Screenwriting: Writing Short Films 15 CATS Term 1

Level 5
To complete the programme, students must pass the following modules:
PFR5101 Practical Film Production 2: S16mm 30 CATS Term 3-4
PFR5102 Writing, Pitching and Developing Short Film 30 CATS Term 3-4
PFR5106 Directing Actors 15 CATS Term 3
PFR5107 Documentary Production 15 CATS Term 4
PFR5108 Contemporary TV Formats 15 CATS Term 3
PFR5109 Interactive Media Production 15 CATS Term 4

Level 6
To complete the programme, students must pass the following modules:
PFR6101 Graduation Film Development and Pre-Production 30 CATS Term 5
PFR6102 Film Business, Marketing and Distribution 30 CATS Term 5-6

To complete the programme, students must pass a minimum of
two modules from the following:
PFR6104 Producing 30 CATS Term 6
PFR6105 Directing 30 CATS Term 6
PFR6106 Assistant Direction 30 CATS Term 6
PFR6107 Cinematography 30 CATS Term 6
PFR6108 Editing/Continuity 30 CATS Term 6
