New College Durham has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
This programme will top-up your foundation degree in a business related area to a degree.
It will give you the skills to succeed in the highly competitive business environment and provide you with an excellent foundation for a wide range of business and management careers.
This versatile programme gives you the option to choose units of study that suit your interests. You can either choose the general management route, or choose from five specialised area of business to focus your studies.

Points of entry
The following entry points are available for this course:
- Year 1
Normal entry is achieved by holding qualifications that equate to 240 CATs (Credit Accumulation and Transfer) points; 120 of them at Level 4 and 120 at Level 5 acquired in the fields of business, management or public administration.
This requirement will normally be met if you hold an appropriate BTEC HND qualification, Foundation Degree or Level 5 Diploma in Business & Management. Usually it will be expected that you have achieved at least a Merit standard in the modules making up the final level of your BTEC studies.
European applicants should hold 60 European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System credits.
Students who do not have English as a first language, IELTs Level 6 or above (or equivalent) will be required.
What if I don't hold these qualifications:
If you have suitable alternative qualifications in an appropriate field of study you may also be admitted to the programme.
Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL):
If you have previously studied on a similar award and have gained higher education credit at an equivalent level it may be possible to take this into account to gain exemptions from one or more modules.
