Turn your passion into a career. Studying sports and exercise science at Essex will help you to understand the biology, physiology, biomechanics and psychology or sport, exercise and physical activity. Our course is endorsed by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES). Practical work in your first two years provides you with the professional and scientific skills that you need to conduct your own research project in your final year. You work with elite athletes and gain work experience in our Human Performance Unit. If you are considering a career in coaching or teaching you can get financial support from our Sports Federation to take level 1 and 2 coaching qualifications.
Many of our courses offer a choice of optional modules to tailor your learning experience. More information about these can be found on the University of Essex website.
