This degree offers you the opportunity to understand, explore and make an informed contribution to education debates. You will be able to make links between education policy, its delivery and the experience of groups and individuals. In addition you will study specific modules to enable you to develop your understanding of key issues and thinking in the field of special educational needs and disability (SEND). You will focus on inclusion in education and how to meet the identified needs of all learners.
Within the course you will also study contemporary issues in education and society; historical figures in education; the philosophy and psychology of education; learning theory; and education literature. This degree combines the traditional study of the disciplines of education with innovative approaches to study and your own learning.
As you progress through your course, there will be opportunities for you to focus on areas of particular personal interest within the field of special educational needs & disability.
