The course will allow you to further develop specialist technical skills as well as personal development, enabling you to meet the demands of employers in the computing sector. The course is aimed at learners already employed in the sector and, by undertaking further study, enabling them to progress in both technical and managerial positions in the sector.
You will be able to progress onto a HND or Degree in Computing or a related field. Network Engineer, Systems Architect, Data Analyst, IT Security Analyst, Web Developer are all possible examples of a wide range of job titles associated with the qualification.
Significant additional study will be required outside of the program to be successful. If working then the support of your employer would be a significant benefit to successful completion.
There may be the opportunity to study for industry specific qualifications as part of the course.
You will study:
• Professional Practice
• Database Design and Development
• Managing a Successful Computing Project
There will be two additional units, the selection of which can be influenced by the course participants.
This course is 100% assessment based, depending on the module some of these may be under controlled conditions.

There are no qualification requirements for this course.
Applicants must have: GCSE A*-C in Maths and English (or equivalent) AND: BTEC Level 3 in Computing OR Related Level 3 qualifications OR Access to HE Diploma in Computing OR Significant vocational experience in a relevant area. Applicants will be required to attend an interview.
