The course offers you an ideal opportunity to acquire knowledge, understanding and the necessary transferable skills for working in the creative side of games design. You will study a variety of subjects and skills ranging from 3D game modelling, 2D game art, digital animation and 3D game prototype development through to games design theory, and games mechanics. All aspects of the course relate to industry contexts and industry links will be encouraged within many modules throughout the course.
Modules studied in year 1 include; Games Design Theory and Culture, Games Mechanics and Narrative, Game Art Fundamentals, 3D Modelling Principles, 2D Digital Graphics and Game Practice Skills. Year 2 consists of Games Industry and Society, Games World Creation, Games Animation, 3D Game Art, Game Cinematics and a Collaborative Project.
