University of Wales Trinity Saint David has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
This degree scheme introduces students to History over a millennia, from the ‘invasion’ of 1066 all the way through to the Presidency of Barack Obama. It thus offers modules which cover broad sweeps of time (Medieval Europe, 1066-1452: Modern China, 1650-2000) allowing students to consider how societies alter and change, the long term impact of war, economic upheaval and political radicalism, and the rise and fall of great powers.
The programme is made up of the following combinations of core, compulsory and optional modules. These might alter a little from year to year owing to staff changes, curriculum development and recommendations following validation. However at level 4 there are 4 compulsory modules, including a cross-Faculty study skills modules completed by all students, 5 optional modules. At level 5 there are 4 compulsory modules, including a School specific research methods modules completed by all students, and 5 optional modules. At level 6 all students complete a Dissertation of either 20 or 40 credits in addition to 2 compulsory modules and 6 optional ones.
