This BA (Hons) Wellbeing and Social Care Practices (Top Up) degree is for when you have successfully completed your foundation degree in Wellbeing and Social Care Practices at University Centre at Blackburn College and wish to leave with an Honours degree. You will study modules such as Management with Wellbeing and Social Care Practices, Principles and Practice of Contemporary Communication as well as two optional modules that will allow you to specialise in a particular area of interest. You will also complete a dissertation. All modules build on the skills that you have already acquired as part of the foundation degree.
Caring for others is a growing area of employment, recent publications such as Independence, choice and wellbeing, think family and the personalisation agenda, indicate the focus of society on the social care sector and the expanding workforce. As Government policies change, so too do the issues surrounding social care. The course is intended to recognise the growth in demand for individuals equipped with knowledge and skills to support the transformation of the Wellbeing Social Care sector and to meet the need for professionals in a variety of disciplines who can support service users to maintain their independence and have as much choice and control over their lives as they want to have.
