This hands-on BSc offers you the chance to examine the interaction of biological systems alongside developing the specialist skills needed to apply biological concepts to the solution of practical problems.

The first two years of the degree are dedicated to developing your core knowledge of the discipline, and you’ll get the chance to choose units that you are particularly passionate about in years two and four, with a particular highlight being the international field trip. Year three provides that all-important chance to experience biological sciences in the world of work, as you’ll complete a five or 30-week placement in industry, and in your final year you’ll get to undertake a piece of research that interests you.

Within six months of completing their course, 85% of our students are working or studying (Destination of Leavers from Higher Education, 2018). Graduates from this degree have gone on to work in industries surrounding biotechnology, forensic and biomedical research, environmental science and education to name a few.
