Our foundation degree, is ideal for those already enjoying a career working with children and who are passionate about taking their career to the next level through additional study. The course has been designed to meet the needs of Early Years professionals who are already qualified at Level 3 and who have at least a year’s experience working with young children. Encouraging children to learn through experience, developing their curiosity and practical skills and creating a secure environment will be your main responsibilities. Already working with children, you will have the basic skills and personal attributes for the role: your foundation degree studies will provide you with a more in-depth understanding of how your vocation and industry expertise can help a child reach their full potential. We will help you to further understand the growth, development and learning of young children, as well as the values and historical, cultural and legal frameworks that influence Early Years care. You'll also learn national and international perspectives on supporting the development of children. We develop your professional skills through exploring the latest research and legislative frameworks, including child development; the team supporting the child; learning through play; children, families and society; inclusion and curriculum principles. You will finish the course confident in applying your skills and knowledge to practice. You will cover a range of topics that will benefit you in your career working in Early Years, with industry expert lecturers focussing on supporting your professional and personal development so you can be the best you can be.
