Course summary

TEF Gold

Coventry University has opted into the TEF and received a Gold award.

Find out more about the TEF.

Our Midwifery course aims to take you through all aspects of modern practice, beginning with ‘normal’ childbearing in year one and moving on to diversity in maternity and neonatal health in your second year. Upon the successful completion of your third year, you should have the necessary skills to take on the professional role of a midwife!

Teaching is split between tutorials, laboratory skills sessions, lectures, and you being on clinical placement – our nursing placements were recently voted 2nd best in the UK. You’ll be supported by experienced, professional midwives while you learn, who should act as a ‘mentor’ and help you to develop.
