Software Development offers the opportunity to build expertise in creating software for many devices, platforms and technologies that connect us for business, creativity and entertainment. The course covers the design and development of Apps, Applications, Tools and Services for Desktop, Mobile, Tablet and Smart Devices, plus the Web and Cloud-based systems. There is an emphasis on creating high-quality software with a great user experience, using technologies such as touchscreens and motion sensors.
Students will explore various programming languages, development environments, technical and creative tools and have the opportunity to embrace the relevant aspects of computing science that are essential for the professional software developer who needs to adapt to the challenges and potential of technological innovation.
The course retains a practical focus throughout and students will be encouraged to build a professional portfolio and exhibit their work.
