This programme aims to provide education and training for a range of careers in art, craft and design and is particularly orientated towards those wishing to pursue a career in ‘illustration’.
This programme is for you if you love drawing and ‘making’ whether using pencil, plasticine or plywood. You should love reading, thinking, questioning and having informed opinions. You should be open-minded, willing to challenge and question. Combining personal expression with an understanding of the industry, we help you to find your personal visual language. We aim to foster a warm and friendly studio environment, where like-minded creative people can work together.
The Level 4 Module titles are as follows:
Research Through Drawing (20 credits)
Issues in Society (20 credits)
Audience, Purpose, Place (60 credits)
Context 1 (20 credits)
Level 5 Module titles are as follows::
Digital Platforms (20 credits)
Future Self (20 credits)
Illustrator / Authorstrator (60 credits) Context 2 (20 credits)
We use a wide range of assessment methods throughout the course. You will be encouraged to assess yourself and others as part of your studies. The course values self-evaluation and the ability to reflect on learning. You will receive regular verbal and written feedback throughout the year and there are key assessment points when summative feedback is provided.

Related work experience will be considered in place of formal qualifications
