The programme has been developed to assist those looking to develop a career in a modern manufacturing environment. As part of the course you will study automation technology, Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing. You will be using industry-standard technologies such as Solidworks, Mitsubishi PLC’s, NI Multisim and PIC microcontrollers.
The topics for the two year part-time course (the full-time course covers all these topics in one year) are: Year 1 Modules: • Maths for Engineers • Engineering Science • Materials Engineering • Computer-Aided Machining • Advanced CAD Techniques and Programmable Logic Controllers Year 2 Modules: • Maths for Engineers • Engineering Science • Manufacturing Planning and Scheduling Principles • Engineering Design, Quality and Business Improvement and Project
