The LLB Law degree at Aberystwyth University is engineered to enhance your career prospects with completion within two years to LLB Senior Status Law Degree. . Our degree is recognised by the Bar Standards Board and the Solicitors Regulation Authority, providing a direct route to the legal profession. The degree is taught in the most well-regarded Law School in Wales. From the moment you arrive at the Aberystwyth Law School we will work with you to build on your skills and experience to enhance your career prospects. During your time with us you will have the opportunity to undertake a work experience placement with large organisations such as the County Council and NHS Wales. The third year module ‘Employability Skills for Professionals' is an opportunity for you to discover more about the industry sector and network with potential future employers.
You can also take advantage of the Aber Forward and Aber Works schemes, which advertises paid placements or internships in various professional services departments across the University. These paid placements will give you a great insight of life in the workplace and provide you with the relevant skills that will be required upon entering the work environment after graduation. In addition, every student has the opportunity to undertake a Year in Employment placement also known as 'YES'. This programme is centered around a year long placement in a chosen industry by yourself between your second and third year. Aberystwyth University has a dedicated Careers department that are here to advise, help and mentor you during your time at Aberystwyth University.
The department offers extra curricular activities, these include a competing mooting society, where the participants take part in national and international mooting competitions. The department also has a specific Welsh medium mooting society for those who wish to moot in the Welsh language. Students who are part of the mooting society develop key advocacy and litigation skills.

A first degree in any subject, achieved with class 2:1 minimum, is required for entry to this 2 year accelerated LLB degree scheme.
Additional entry requirements
A minimum grade C or grade 4 pass in GCSE (or equivalent) English or Welsh is a requirement for entry to all our degree schemes. Level 3 KS/FS Communication may be acceptable in lieu of GCSE English or Welsh.
