Bournemouth University has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
This course is specifically designed for students with appropriate existing qualifications (such as HND or Foundation degree) in Hospitality, Tourism or allied subjects to continue their studies to degree level. It develops graduates with the managerial skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in these dynamic and challenging international industries. As well as gaining a better understanding of hospitality and tourism management, you will be guided in developing your ability to evaluate and analyse and to apply your knowledge in innovative ways.
Alongside the core units, you'll have the opportunity to choose two option units, allowing you to tailor your degree around your career goals and aspirations. You can find our graduates working for some of the world’s best-known tourism organisations, including Walt Disney World, Hilton Worldwide, Travco and VisitScotland to name just a few.
You will study strategy and leadership in hospitality and create a dissertation, along with selecting two optional units from a variety of options including; tourism issues and futures, digital marketing, financial management, food, culture and travel, tourism and hospitality design and entrepreneurship and SME management.

|UCAS Tariff||This course requires a Foundation Degree with 60% or above in a required subject or HND with Merit or above in a required subject. Required subjects: Hospitality, Tourism or Travel & Tourism.|
|GCSE/National 4/National 5||GCSE English Language or English Literature and Mathematics grade 4 (or grade C in the old grading system). We also accept iGCSEs, Key Skills and Functional Skills and other qualifications at Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework.|
Apprenticeships: We recognise the transferable knowledge and skills gained through apprenticeships and welcome applications from students with the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship. Each application will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Mature applicants: We recognise that mature applicants may have a wealth of experience rather than formal qualifications, so we’ll consider your application on these merits if it’s included in your application. You’ll need to apply to BU in the usual way through UCAS and you may be invited to an interview to discuss your suitability for the course based on the experience you tell us about in your application.
