This third year BA (Hons) top-up from Foundation Degree in Animation is designed to build on the vocational platform offered by the FdA in Animation at Barking & Dagenham College, and provides opportunities to develop academic pathways in the subject area, including research and dissertation, experimental approaches to practice, project realization and exhibition, and reflective development of professional practice.

During your studies, you will have access to the design studios and industry-standard software at Barking & Dagenham College. You will also benefit from access to the state-of-the-art libraries and other learning resources of our course partner, the University of East London (UEL).

Course details

Modules

This one year programme functions as a third year top-up to the Foundation Degree in Animation. Each year is divided into two semesters. You will be required to study for a minimum of 35 hours per week – this will be made up of a mixture of lectures, seminars, practical workshops, independent study, research and project work.

During your studies you will cover four modules:

  • Experimental approaches to animation or experimental approaches to games design
  • New horizons in animation
  • Research project and dissertation
  • Final major project and exhibition
