Course summary

The Film & TV degree course at UWTSD Swansea will you to make that leap from being a film student to applying for that first job in film & TV. Whether you are studying A-Level English, photography, history, design, or a creative media course, our aim is to get you ready to start your career once you finish with us - we will even be asking you to apply for jobs in your first term. But your journey starts and ends with creative storytelling – and as any creative professional will tell you, the story is the most essential part of any creative practice. With help from our storytelling specialisms in script design, directing performers, cinematic & photographic design, story research, and sound design, you will be taught how to build an effective production around a core story idea. We put you at the centre of the learning, and this means we encourage you to experiment in a range of stories from drama, documentary, photo films, music, fashion films to online content. This process of experimenting will help you to perfect your own unique style of storytelling. Without experimenting, you end up producing boring, predictable, and very forgettable films.
