University Centre Somerset - Bridgwater & Taunton College has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
The BA (Hons) top-up follows a modular structure, and takes your learning and skills to a further level allowing your specialist skills to flourish towards the career you want. You will consider the wider cultural context to underpin your studio work and focus on your own personal design statement, culminating in your collection being shown at the End of Year Degree Show. Students can also be offered national platforms to showcase their work to industry at events such as Graduate Fashion Week or New Designers in London.
We work with a panel of well-respected professionals from within the fashion and textiles industry to ensure that our course keeps up-to-date with the expectations of an ever-changing industry. As a result, University Centre Somerset Students have a great reputation for securing employment upon completion of their studies. Recent graduates have gone on to jobs in design, retail management, buying and fashion promotion. They've worked with employers including Courtaulds, Abercrombie & Fitch, Sassi Holford, Fat Face, Debenhams, Ashley Isham, Miss Selfridge, Next, New Loo,, Peacock's and Vivienne Westwood. Others have progressed on to a postgraduate level studying an MA or PGCE.

Applicants must have a Foundation Degree, HND or equivalent Level 5 qualification in an appropriate discipline. Students also require GCSE at grade A*-C (new grading system 9-4) in English and Maths or equivalent Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy.
Additional entry requirements
You will be asked to provide a digital portfolio at interview. The portfolio must demonstrate your creative skills, subject knowledge and enthusiasm for study. We are looking for a maximum of 12 images that demonstrate a variety of skills research, design development, progressing through to final outcomes. These must include examples of drawing, sketchbooks, idea development, digital skills and finished pieces.
