Our four-year BSc Finance course, with an integrated placement year, will equip you with the perfect balance of finance, economics, accounting and general management knowledge, to enable you to thrive in a high-pressured business environment. Course details
Year 1 – You will study a range of topics, designed to give you a solid foundation for your business degree.
Year 2 - From the second year you will explore financial and management accounting in depth, participate in events organised in conjunction with accountancy firms, visit businesses, and undertake an interactive business game module. Subject areas include Financial Markets, Business Tax and Advanced Quantitative Methods.
Year 3 – This is when you will undertake a professional placement or choose an international study opportunity at one of our partner institutions. This year is compulsory for all UK and EU students.
- Year 4 - In this year studies are taken to a more refined level, similar to a professional qualification standard, whilst retaining theoretical analysis. Subject areas include Investments, Derivatives and Risk Management.

Modules
In the First Year, you will study a wide range of management related subjects, designed to ensure yo u have a broad foundation and knowledge of management. You will consider the economic, financial, hu man and legal issues managers deal with, and the tools and techniques they use. You will be introduced to the key areas of business as well as carrying out project work which will help draw together t he subjects you have studied. In the Second Year, your degree begins its specialist emphasis upon finance and financial management . You will explore finance in more depth and undertake an interactive team-based business game module. Please refer to the website for detailed module information.
