MMedSci in Nursing Studies (Adult) leading to professional registration as an Adult Nurse. The School has been commissioned by the NHS to provide the above course as an innovative route to registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as an Adult Nurse.

The course will prepare students to work within the NHS and health and social care sectors as nurses. The course uses an innovative approach to learning alongside other health care professional groups and within health care settings to ensure that students develop the competence for effective practice, and the knowledge and confidence to progress their careers effectively following qualification.

The content of our courses is reviewed annually to make sure it's up-to-date and relevant. Individual modules are occasionally updated or withdrawn. This is in response to discoveries through our world-leading research; funding changes; professional accreditation requirements; student or employer feedback; outcomes of reviews; and variations in staff or student numbers.In the event of any change we'll consult and inform students in good time and take reasonable steps to minimise disruption.

Additional fee information

For the 2018-19 academic year the University of Sheffield charged most new full-time Home (UK/EU) undergraduates a tuition fee of £9250. Tuition fees for Home students are determined by government policy. Home fees for the 2019-20 academic year have not yet been set.

Sponsorship information

The University of Sheffield Bursary is available to home students who have a household income of £40,000 or less. You may also be eligible for an additional £250 per year depending on your postcode and grades. We use the details you submit to Student Finance and UCAS to assess your eligibility for a bursary. You don’t need to apply; if you’re eligible you’ll receive an award for each year of your course. If you're a care leaver, care for an ill or disabled family member or are estranged from your parents or guardian you may be eligible for an enhanced bursary of £4,500 per year. The University also offers a number of scholarships to help you fund your studies and enhance your learning experience.
