University of York has opted into the TEF and received a Gold award.
This course gives you a good grounding in the study of both software (programs) and hardware (electronics) and how they integrate into the design of systems. The structure of the course means that you gain a thorough grounding in the discipline in the first two years. You can then sharpen your focus on those areas that interest you by choosing modules and your individual project on topics covered by our world-leading research and expertise and the latest developments in Computer Science. Choosing to study on a four-year Masters course gives you an extra year to study the topics that really interest you at a deeper level.

We consider a range of BTEC qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications.
A Level in Mathematics (or equivalent qualification) at grade B is essential. We may also consider relevant units in your BTEC as A level Mathematics equivalent.

D: 39 credits
M: 6 credits
|Pass Access to HE Diploma with 39 credits at Distinction and 6 at Merit or higher including Mathematics related units.|
|Scottish Higher||AAAAB - AAAAA||Only acceptable in conjunction with Scottish Advanced Highers.|
|Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal||D3, D3, D3 - D3, D3, M2||Cambridge Pre-U Mathematics is essential.|
|Extended Project||We recognise the value of this qualification although it will not be included as a condition of entry. It may be taken in to consideration when you receive your results.|
|International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme||36 - 35 points||With 6 in Higher Level Mathematics.|
|OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma||DDD||
We consider a range of OCR qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications.
A Level in Mathematics (or equivalent qualification) at grade B is essential. We may also consider relevant units in your OCR Cambridge Technical as A Level equivalent.
|Scottish Advanced Higher||AB - AA||
Acceptable in conjunction with Scottish Highers.
Advanced Higher Mathematics at grade B is essential.
|Welsh Baccalaureate - Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (first teaching September 2015)||A - B||We will consider this qualification alongside or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications, as equivalent to one A Level.|
