If you are motivated and dedicated with a passion for performing arts as well as an ambition to pursue a career in theatre, then our course is for you! Through it you will gain a wide variety of essential skills for working within the theatre industry or to continue your studies onto a degree course in order to develop your skills further.

The level 5 HND in Acting is aimed at combining creative and professional units to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to work in the performing arts. You will be tutored by teachers and practitioners working in the field with experience and knowledge across the industry. In addition, the college maintains strong links with local theatres, offering workshops and performance opportunities in partnership with these organisations.

Additionally, guest lecturers from a variety of backgrounds are also invited to give you a valuable insight into real, professional and creative performing arts practice.

Our course has been developed in order to cover a broad range of skills and develop your understanding of contemporary performing arts practice.

In the first year you will study units such as:
• Devising Performance
• Theatre in Education
• Physical Theatre Performance
• Development of Acting Skills

In the second year units will include:
• Acting for Camera
• Creative Arts Research Skills
• Creative Arts Professional Practice

These units are aimed at ensuring you have a strong understanding of the industry and how to find work. The course also includes work experience placements as well as numerous theatre visits and a residential trip.

This HND gives you the opportunity to create your own work and perform in an array of different locations.

Fees Policy: After enrolling at the College, you have a “cooling off period” of 14 days in which you may change your mind, withdraw your registration and cancel the contract with the College. Written notice of cancellation must be given to the College within the 14 day “cooling off” period though reasons for cancellation will not be required. If the cancellation is carried out in this way, the College will refund any tuition fees already paid.
