This programme is for applicants who are keen to gain the appropriate level of qualification to apply for more specialist roles with the Public Services, such as researcher, officer in the armed forces, Local Council/Government, Courts and the Probationary service. By competing an additional one year top up the student could also apply for a graduate programme with for example the Prison Service. Supervisors or middle managers currently working in the Public Services may find the programme appealing for their own personal development.

Managing an enterprise project
Public services support for national and local communities
Professional practice (work-based learning)
The management of employee’s welfare, well-being and stress within the public services
Level Five

Equality and diversity in public services
Business environments
Research project
Advanced professional practice (work-based learning)
Economic impact on the UK public services
Leadership and teamwork in the public services

Assessment method

The course will include a variety of assessment methods including essays, case studies, presentations, projects, portfolios report writing and examinations.
